How these times are calculated

Prayer times follow the sun. Fajr starts when the sun is 18 degrees below the eastern horizon, Dhuhr just after solar noon, and Maghrib at sunset. Isha starts when the sun is 18 degrees below the western horizon. Asr begins when an object's shadow reaches its own length (Standard) or twice its length (Hanafi). Most Pakistani timetables use the Hanafi rule, which is the one shown here.

The calculation uses Quetta's coordinates and is checked against an independent reference calculator. Published mosque timetables can differ by a minute or two because of rounding and local precaution margins; where your mosque differs, follow your mosque.
