Six Militants Killed in Kachhi Operation as Forces Use Quadcopters, Security Sources Say

Security forces killed six militants in an intelligence-based operation in the Sanni area of Balochistan's Kachhi district on October 1, targeting them with quadcopters, according to security sources cited by Radio Pakistan and reported by The Express Tribune.

The Kachhi operation

The operation was carried out under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, an intelligence-based campaign against what the state calls Fitna al-Hindustan. The federal government designated Baloch militant groups under that name last year, accusing India of sponsoring a proxy war through them. According to the security sources' account, the militants were targeted using quadcopters, and weapons and ammunition were recovered from those killed. A clearance operation was under way in the area to eliminate any remaining militants. The account comes from security officials and has not been independently verified.

Correction on Sherani

An earlier version of this article also reported that seven militants were killed in an intelligence-based operation in Sherani district on the same day. That operation took place on October 1, 2025. Dawn reported at the time that the ISPR said seven militants it described as belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij, its term for the banned TTP, were killed after an exchange of fire. It is not part of the 2026 toll.

Earlier operations in Kachhi

The Sanni operation follows other reported operations in the district. On September 18, Radio Pakistan reported that security forces killed five militants in the Fateh Ali area of Panjgur and two in the Dhadar area of Kachhi, where several others were reportedly injured.
